Website design

You have a Facebook page, a listing somebody else controls, and a domain pointing at nothing. Every enquiry arrives through a channel you do not own, and you cannot tell anyone to go and look at the site, because there is nothing to look at.

01 / What it is

Definition

Somewhere to send people that makes them call, book, buy or write to you. Built small and fast around that one job, and structured so it can grow later without starting again.

02 / Who it is for

Fit

You are probably in the right place if:

  • A new business that needs somewhere to point people.
  • An established one running on referrals and a phone number.
  • Anyone whose current site is a single page from a template shop.
03 / What is included

Scope

  • The page list and structure agreed before any design starts
  • Copy written from your material, or drafted with you if there is none
  • Design and build of every page layout
  • Contact forms with real spam handling, not a puzzle and a prayer
  • Google Business listing, consistent details everywhere, and the hidden description search engines read
  • Analytics and Google reporting set up on day one
04 / How it works

Sequence

  1. 01

Work out what it is for

One conversation about who arrives, what they need to know, and what you want them to do. Everything else follows from that.

  2. 02

    Words before pictures

Pages get written before they get designed. A layout built around real sentences fits. One built around filler never does.

  3. 03

    Design and build

Layouts first, then the pages that use them, then the details.

  4. 04

    Launch

Domain, security certificate, email and forms all tested against a real inbox before anyone sees it.

05 / What determines the scope

Effort

What actually moves the number.

The honest answer to what it costs is that it depends on these. Read them and you will know roughly where your job sits before anyone quotes you anything.

Whether the words exist
Bringing finished text and photographs shortens the job considerably. Writing it together is the longest item on most first builds.
How many layouts
A straightforward site is five or six. Add a searchable directory or a booking flow and it is a different piece of work.
Photographs
Real photographs of the actual business beat anything from a stock library, and getting them takes scheduling.
Who edits it after
Publishing weekly changes what gets built. Changing a phone number twice a year does not.

FAQ

Do I need a system to log into and edit?

Only if you publish regularly. One you log into twice a year is a security risk and a chore. If that is you, changes go through us, which is faster than you remembering the password.

Who owns the site?

You do. The domain, the hosting, the code, the analytics, all in your name from the start. Nothing is held hostage.

Can I add pages later?

Yes. That is what building on layouts is for. A new service page is a small job because the structure already allows for it.

The quote form arrives with website design already selected. It starts with the site rather than with you, so the first step costs you nothing.
